Polypeptide health food only needs to be placed in a cool and dry place
Polypeptide reagents and polypeptide drugs need to be stored in a dryer. Freeze dried polypeptides can be placed at room temperature before they are exposed to air. This will reduce the influence of humidity. When freeze-drying is impossible, the best way is to store in a small amount of working samples. For polypeptide reagent containing Cys, met or Trp, deoxidation buffer is essential for its dissolution, because this polypeptide reagent is easy to be oxidized by air. Before sealing the bottle, nitrogen or argon slowly flowing through the polypeptide reagent will also reduce the oxidation. Peptide reagents containing Gln or ASN are also easy to degrade, and all these peptides have a limited life compared with those without these problematic glycosides
Polypeptides are widely soluble. The main problem of peptide insoluble is the formation of secondary structure. This happens except for the most peptides, especially in peptides with multiple hydrophobic residues. Salt can promote the formation of secondary structure. We recommend dissolving the polypeptide in sterile distilled water or deionized water first. If the dissolution rate needs to be increased, ultrasonic treatment can be used. There are still problems in dissolution. Adding a small amount of dilute acetic acid (10%) or ammonia will facilitate dissolution
To preserve the polypeptide reagent for a long time, it is best to freeze-drying. The cold-dried powder can be stored at - 20 ℃ or lower for several years with little or no degradation. Peptides in solution are far from stable. The polypeptide is easily degraded by bacteria and should be dissolved in sterile purified water
Polypeptide solutions containing met, Cys or Tyr residues have limited life due to oxidation. It should be dissolved in oxygen-free solvent. In order to prevent the damage of repeated freezing and thawing, it is recommended to dissolve the excess peptide for convenience of the experiment, and the other peptides should be preserved in solid form.
